A retrofit SuDS scheme, based on Hydro International’s stormwater storage and infiltration technologies and Hydro-Brake® Flow Controls has alleviated flooding problems at a busy town car park, caused by the frequent heavy rainfall.

As part of the flood alleviation programme for the main street of the pretty Leicestershire village of Worthington, Severn Trent Water designed a 310 m3 stormwater storage facility. To provide the discharge control, Severn Trent Water specified a Hydro-Brake® Flow Control, which ensures a maximum discharge of 40 l/s to the local watercourse treatment works.
The pretty Northampton villages around Weedon, in the upper River Nene valley, suffered disastrous flooding in 1998, with Weedon Bec being particularly affected.
