CIWEM – Diffuse Pollution Conference

The aim of this conference will be to set out the policy drivers, emerging trends and understanding on the scale of the problem and whether we are making progress. It will then focus on the delivering of cost effective practice and what form this should take, and how lessons can be taken forward into policy and investment programmes.

Objectives
  • To set out the policy drivers (CAP Reform, WFD, PR14), trends and overview the challenges diffuse pollution continues to provide;
  • To consider the scale of the diffuse pollution problem and whether we are making progress.
  • To showcase a wide variety of practice addressing diffuse pollution to highlight:
  • the diversity of approaches currently being used
  • the developing evidence base, are we making a difference?
  • the cost-effectiveness of different approaches
  • To look at what lessons need to be taken forward by policy and investment programmes

This conference has received the approval of The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management and will contribute to your CPD
